Horizon League play opened in spectacular fashion Thursday night, with overtime-forcing 3-point shots, second-half rallies and a couple of road wins making headlines.
Oakland forced 21 turnovers and improved to 11-3 for the season with an impressive home win against Wright State. Northern Kentucky picked up a road win and its 10th win of the season after rallying from a halftime deficit at Detroit Mercy. Cameron Morse scored 33 for Youngstown State, including a 3-pointer with 0.2 left in regulation, as the Penguins held off Milwaukee in double-overtime. Green Bay squeezed out a one-point road win at Cleveland State as Trevor Anderson’s free throw with five seconds remaining in overtime provided the final margin.
at Oakland 81, Wright State 62
OAKLAND, Mich. -- Sherron Dorsey-Walker pumped in 25 points and collected five steals to spark Oakland to an 81-62 win over Wright State in the Horizon League opener for both teams Thursday night. The Golden Grizzlies now have won 11 straight home league openers and is 16-2 all-time as a Division I program.

Northern Kentucky 81, at Detroit Mercy 70
DETROIT (AP) -- Cole Murray and Lavone Holland scored 21 points apiece and Northern Kentucky rallied from a halftime deficit to earn an 81-70 win over Detroit in the Horizon League opener on Thursday night.

Green Bay 76, at Cleveland State 75 (OT)
CLEVELAND (AP) - Charles Cooper had 19 points and eight rebounds and Trevor Anderson's free throw with five seconds left lifted Green Bay to a 76-75 overtime win over Cleveland State in the Horizon League opener.

at Youngstown State 88, Milwaukee 87 (2OT)
Cameron Morse hit a game-tying 3-pointer with 0.2 seconds left in regulation, and the Youngstown State men's basketball team outlasted Milwaukee for an 88-87 victory in double overtime in the Horizon League opener for both schools on Thursday evening at Beeghly Center.
