#HLMBB Recaps Nov. 25

INDIANAPOLIS – Oakland (5-1) and Wright State (4-1) continued impressive starts to the 2016-17 campaign and UIC was dominant in its neutral-court win against Cal Poly during Friday’s nonconference action. Wright State’s victory against Cal State Bakersfield pushed the league’s record to 19-1 in nonconference home games. Six nonconference games will dot the HLN on ESPN3 Saturday schedule (see schedule below).

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Martez Walker scored 25 points to lead Oakland to a 71-65 victory over Alaska Anchorage in the Great Alaska Shootout on Friday. Jalen Hayes had 13 points and Nick Daniels added 12 for Oakland (5-1), which concludes the tournament in the fourth-place game against UC Davis Saturday. Full Recap

at Wright State 68, CSU Bakersfield 64 (Men Against Breast Cancer Classic)
DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- Mark Alstork scored 17 of his 24 points in the second half and Wright State held on for a wild 68-64 win over Cal State Bakersfield on Friday night. Full Recap

UIC 84, Cal Poly 71 (NIU Thanksgiving Classic)
DeKALB, Ill. – UIC got out a fast start Friday afternoon and the Flames weathered a late comeback as they downed the Cal Poly Mustangs in their second game at the NIU Thanksgiving Classic, 84-71. Sophomore Dikembe Dixson led four Flames in double figures with a game-high 24 points. Freshman Godwin Boahen added 14 and three assists in 30 minutes off the bench. Full Recap
