MORGANTOWN, W. Va. - Gavin Hoy scored the opening goal of the match as Oakland fell to West Virginia, 4-1, Monday afternoon in men's soccer action at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. The Golden Grizzlies trailed the Mountaineers 15-10 in shots, including 7-4 in shots on goal.

"Extremely disappointing performance from our men today," said head coach Eric Pogue. "We competed hard for the first half, scored a nice goal and had a few other quality chances that we need to put away. But in the second half, we lacked the composure discipline and work rate that is required to beat a top quality opponent like West Virginia on the road. We gave up three quick goals in a five-minute frame just out of the halftime break and it was a hole that we could not dig ourselves out of." Read more

Men's Soccer Falls in OT Despite Three Second Half Goals -- Box Score

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Playing down a man for over 50 minutes of play, the Green Bay men’s soccer team eventually fell 4-3 to DePaul in overtime on Monday afternoon, despite a valiant effort and three second half goals at Santaga Stadium.

Green Bay (1-1-0) saw goalkeeper Dani Alvarado (Leander, Texas) get handed a red card after he came off his line to prevent a goal in a one-on-one play, tackling the DePaul player just outside the top of the box. The Phoenix would have to play with 10 men for the remainder of the game, which led to DePaul scoring three goals following the ejection and four total. Read more
