Tournament Bracket
Despite UIC clinching the No. 1 seed of the men’s soccer championship last weekend with its victory over Belmont, the rest of the 2015 tournament field was up for grabs going into the final night of regular season conference action.
Detroit notched the first win of the day and eventual No. 5 seed with its 2-0 win over Belmont. The Titans will take the road to face No. 4 seed Cleveland State on Monday at 7:00 p.m. ET at Krenzler Field. The Vikings handed UIC its first loss in League play with a 1-0 victory off of a goal 33:00 minutes into the match.
Oakland secured the No. 2 seed with a 3-0 victory on the road against Wright State and will have a bye into the semifinals. The Golden Grizzlies will play in the first semifinal game on Thursday at Alumni Field kicking off at 4:30 p.m. CT and will face the highest-remaining seed after the Quarterfinal contests.
Wright State takes the No. 6 seed and will face No. 3 seeded Northern Kentucky on the road with match taking place at 7:00 p.m. ET on Monday.
UIC claims the Horizon League regular season title for the sixth time in program history. This year will mark the second time in three seasons that the Flames have tabbed the No. 1 seed after winning the regular season title in 2013. UIC will take the pitch in the second semifinal on Thursday night beginning at 7:00 p.m. CT and will take on the lowest-remaining seed after the Quarterfinal games.
The Championship begins with the Quarterfinal games on Monday, Nov. 9 with Cleveland State and Northern Kentucky as hosts.
UIC will host the semifinal and finals at Alumni Field beginning on Nov. 12 with the Championship culminating on Nov. 14 at 6:00 p.m. CT in the title match.
All matches will be carried live on ESPN3.
