Eastern Kentucky 73, Wright State 85
The Wright State women's basketball team took the lead for good by scoring the final five points of the first half and outscored Eastern Kentucky 28-16 in the third quarter in defeating the Colonels 85-73 in the opening game of the Wright State Invitational Presented by Holiday Inn Monday afternoon at WSU's Nutter Center.
The Raiders burst out to a 7-0 lead two minutes into the contest thanks to four points from Chelsea Welch and a Symone Simmons three and the margin eventually grew to 11-2 on two Lexi Smith foul shots, but back came EKU with 11 straight points to take its only lead of the day.

UIC 70, Howard 63
Taylor Toney's season high 18 points led four Flames in double figures, and UIC (3-7) shot over 48% in the second half to lock up their first road win of the season, 70-63 over Howard (2-8) in Washington, DC. Toney scored 15 of her points in the second half when UIC responded to every Bison charge and extended their lead in crunch time.
The Flames took a lead into halftime for just the third time this year. After Howard erased a six point deficit and tied the game at 23, UIC got a spark from Terri Bender, who assisted on a three-pointer and made a jumper of her own. The Flames had reclaimed a 30-27 advantage at the break.

Bradley 67, Valparaiso 56
Four Valparaiso players scored in double figures on Monday night, but the Crusaders dropped the nonleague finale at the hands of Bradley 67-56. Meredith Hamlet (McBain, Mich. / McBain) led the Crusaders in scoring with 13 points, while Grace Hales (Cromwell, Ind. / Westview) achieved a career best with 10.

Northern Kentucky 54, Portland State 77
LAS VEGAS – Northern Kentucky women's basketball suffered a 77-54 setback on the opening day of the Puerto Rico Classic-Las Vegas, falling to Portland State by a 77-54 tally. With the loss, the Norse move to 2-8 on the season, while the Vikings improved to 5-4.
