ROCHESTER, Mich.- Sha'Keya Graves scored 12 points setting career-highs with eight rebounds and eight assists while Nicole Dodd matched her career-best 12 points hitting 4-for-5 from behind the arc as the Oakland women's basketball team opened Horizon League play with a 81-58 win over visiting UIC on Thursday afternoon. Taylor Jones led all scorers with 22 points.
Taylor Gleason also added a season-high eight assists as the Golden Grizzlies dished a season second-best 24 assists.

Valparaiso 60, Detroit Mercy 85
DETROIT (12/29/2016) -- The Titans have had some big quarters during head coach Bernard Scott's tenure but none may have been as complete as Detroit Mercy's third quarter against visiting Valparaiso in the Horizon League opener for both teams.
The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team used a 30-6 scoring advantage in a third quarter, playing well both offensively and defensively, and never looked back, rolling to an 85-60 triumph over the Crusaders from Calihan Hall.

Northern Kentucky 39, Green Bay 70
GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's basketball team opened Horizon League play against Northern Kentucky (4-9, 0-1) Thursday night at the Kress Events Center, downing the Norse 70-39 to move to 10-2 on the season and 1-0 in conference action.
Although the Norse led things 5-2 at the 8:03 mark in the first quarter, the Phoenix wasted no time responding and constructing a 17-5 lead by the end of the first. Green Bay continued to keep things rolling into the second quarter and didn't allow a Norse basket until there was 3:58 left in the half. The Phoenix went on a 26-0 run over that 14 minute, five second time period to lead things 28-5.

Wright State 69, Milwaukee 51
The Wright State women's basketball team shot 50 percent for the game and outscored Milwaukee 42-18 in the paint in defeating the Panthers 69-51 Thursday night in the Horizon League opener for both teams at the Klotsche Center.
