ROCHESTER, Mich.- Hannah Little recorded her team-leading fifth double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds coupled with seven steals and a career-high eight assists as the Oakland women's basketball team upended visiting Valparaiso, 104-63, on New Year's Eve. The 104 points marks the program record for the most points scored in a league game at the O’rena since 100 vs Centenary (1/29/11).
The Golden Grizzlies shot a blistering 16-for-31 from behind the 3-point arc just missing the school record of 18. Oakland had six players in double figures led by Taylor Jones with 20 points. Taylor Gleason added 15 points shooting a career-high 4-for-5 from 3-point range.

UIC 76, Detroit Mercy 98
DETROIT (12/31/2016) -- For the first time since the 2011-12 season, the Titans are 2-0 to open Horizon League play.
Behind a dominating offensive effort Saturday, the University of Detroit Mercy shot its way past visiting UIC from Calihan Hall on New Year's Eve, earning a 98-76 victory. The Titans shot 54.1 percent in the game, including 55.6 percent from behind the arc.
Detroit Mercy drilled 15 3-pointers in the game, five by junior guard Nicole Urbanick and four more from freshman Anja Marinkovic. It was the second game of 15 triples or more this season and fourth contest with double-digit makes from downtown.

Youngstown State 68, Cleveland State 71
CLEVELAND, Ohio – For the fourth time out of the last five seasons the Cleveland State women's basketball team came away victorious in its Horizon League opener, as the Vikings picked up a 71-68 win over Youngstown State Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Vikings improve to 6-6 overall this season and 1-0 in league play.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women’s basketball team ended 2016 with a victory over Wright State (9-5, 1-1) Saturday afternoon at the Kress Center, downing the Raiders 62-41.
The opening quarter of play saw the Phoenix (11-2, 2-0) get off to one of its hottest starts this season, with Mehryn Kraker pouring in 17 points on a 6-of-6 mark from the field and a perfect 5-of-5 performance from beyond the arc. The Phoenix led 25-12 after the opening period, despite the game once being tied at 12-12.

Northern Kentucky 44, Milwaukee 72
MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee women's basketball team used a 32-8 run that spanned over 15 minutes to build an insurmountable lead on its way to a 72-44 win over Northern Kentucky Saturday afternoon from the Klotsche Center.
A total of five players scored in double figures for Milwaukee (9-4, 1-1 Horizon) as UWM shot over 50 percent from the floor nearly the whole game and tied its season high with 12 made three pointers.
Meanwhile, the Panther defense held NKU (4-10, 0-2 Horizon) to just three points in the entire second quarter before cruising to the win.
