Northern Kentucky 73, Youngstown State 77 OT

Alison Smolinski's seventh 3-pointer sparked an 8-0 run in overtime, and the Youngstown State women's basketball team beat Northern Kentucky 77-73 on Thursday evening at Beeghly Center.

Smolinski tied her career with 30 points, and Melinda Trimmer scored a career-high 14 in her first home start. Mary Dunn added 18 points with a career-best eight rebounds.

Wright State 65, Cleveland State 60

The Wright State women's basketball team set a program record for league wins in a season Thursday night, rallying from an 11-point second quarter deficit to defeat Cleveland State 65-60 at the Wolstein Center.

CSU used an 11-4 run in the opening period to build a 19-11 advantage and took its biggest lead of the game at 29-18 on an Ashanti Abshaw three with 4:20 remaining in the second stanza.

Detroit Mercy 62, UIC 63

In a thrilling game on Hoop Pink night, UIC survived a late Detroit Mercy rally and upset the Titans, 63-62 at UIC Pavilion Thursday evening.  Terri Bender made two free throws with three seconds left, and UIC (5-21, 2-13 HL) defended two final efforts by Detroit Mercy (14-11, 10-4 HL) to secure the win in front of the second largest home crowd of the season.

The Flames trailed by 10 points at the end of the first quarter, but controlled the game for the middle two quarters and the first part of the fourth.  Kiki Bynes scored 11 of her career high-tying 18 points in the second period as UIC erased the Detroit Mercy lead.  Bynes made all three of her 3-point attempts, but a Rebecca Reynolds triple with time winding down put the visitors ahead by two at halftime.

Oakland 98, Valparaiso 60

VALPARAISO, Ind - Taylor Jones led all scorers with 25 points going 10-for-16 from the field while Hannah Little recorded her 11th double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds as Oakland placed four players in double figures in a 98-60 rout at Valparaiso on Thursday night.

Leah Somerfield and Taylor Gleason had 14 and 13 points respectively each hitting six shots from the field. Defensively, Oakland applied pressure early and often forcing 25 turnovers which led to 36 points. The Golden Grizzlies also had 19 steals with Jones, Little, Somerfield and Sha'Keya Graves each with three and a 25-0 fast break points advantage.
