CLEVELAND, Ohio – With a pair of free throws at the 1:02 mark of the second quarter, Ashanti Abshaw recorded her 1,000th career point and helped lead Cleveland State to a 77-58 victory over Northern Kentucky Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Vikings are now 13-14 overall this season and 8-8 in Horizon League play.

Detroit Mercy 55, Valparaiso 57
The Valparaiso University women’s basketball team escaped with an improbable 57-55 win over Detroit Mercy on Saturday afternoon at the Athletics-Recreation Center. The Crusaders avenged a 25-point loss to the Titans from earlier in the season. Amber Lindfors (Elk Grove Village, Ill. / Elk Grove) had a double-double while Dani Franklin (Cedar Rapids, Iowa / George Washington) led the Crusaders (8-19, 3-13 Horizon) with 16 points.

Oakland 78, UIC 50
CHICAGO - Nicole Dodd poured in a career-high 15 points draining a career-best 5-of-10 from behind the arc leading Oakland to a 78-50 win at UIC on Saturday. The victory marks the program's 300th win in the Division I era.
Dodd, Leah Somerfield and Nola Anderson went a combined 13-for-13 from the free throw line with Somerfield adding 15 points along with 10 from Anderson. Defensively, the Golden Grizzlies had 17 steals and 27 points off 24 UIC turnovers.

Wright State 68, Youngstown State 64
The Wright State women's basketball team tied a program record with its 13th straight victory Saturday, defeating Youngstown State 68-64 at the Beeghly Center.
Mackenzie Taylor opened the scoring with a jumper at the 7:41 mark of the first quarter, only to see the Penguins answer with 10 straight points over the next two minutes. The Raiders were then down 30-21 late in the second stanza before closing the half on an 8-2 run, five of those coming from Symone Simmons, to only trail 32-29 at the break.
