Home teams dominated Horizon League women’s soccer action on Wednesday night, as Northern Kentucky remained unbeaten in conference play and UIC collected its first League victory of the season.
Northern Kentucky 3, Wright State 0: Jessica Frey paced the Norse offense with a goal and an assist as Northern Kentucky registered a 3-0 shutout victory over Wright State to tie Milwaukee atop the Horizon League standings. The Norse remain undefeated in the League at 5-0 while their overall record improves to 9-3. Wright State falls to 4-7-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the League. Read more…(link)
UIC 2, Cleveland State 0: Jasmin Carrera and Naomi Rushe put home a pair of goals within a 10-minute span in the second half as UIC went on to claim its first Horizon League victory of the season with a 2-0 shutout against Cleveland State at Flames Field. The result gave the Flames their third shutout and fourth victory, an improvement from three wins in their inaugural season in 2014. They have now won two of their last three games. Read more…(link)
