The Horizon League has announced Oakland’s George O’Connor as Men’s Runner of the Week and Milwaukee’s Tri Pham as Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.

George O’Connor/Oakland/Senior/Distance/Croswell, Mich.

O’Connor helped the Golden Grizzlies earn a first place victory in the Jack Skoog Invite this past weekend, collecting a total score of 68. Oakland saw eight first place finishes, including O’Connor’s first place victory in the mile run with a time of 4:17.73. The senior was 1st/18 runners.

This is the first Runner of the Week honor that O’Connor has received this season.

Tri Pham/Milwaukee/Freshman/Triple Jump/ Franklin, Wis.

Tri Pham began his collegiate career with a bang, winning triple jump by over 2 feet. The freshman help lead the Panthers to 2nd place finish in the Karl Schlender Invitational with an impressive field performance. In the mixed triple jump, Pham finished 1st/9 with a result of 13.97m, earning Milwaukee a total of 10 points in the event. That mark already ranks second in the league rankings thus far.

This is the first Field Athlete of the Week honor that Pham has received this season
