INDIANAPOLIS – Wright State forward Alec Philippe helped the Raiders’ defeat Horizon League opponent UIC with two assists and claims the week’s Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week. Northern Kentucky goalkeeper Jim Barkei earned his fourth consecutive shutout in the Norse’s 0-0 tie against UIC this weekend and has been named this week’s Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week.

Posted three assists over the two games as Wright State went 2-0, including a win at Horizon League foe UIC. Two of those assists led to game-winning goals. He finished with six shots on the week.

Jim Barkei recorded his fourth consecutive shutout in a 0-0 draw with Cleveland State on Saturday night. He faced 22 shots, making seven saves on the evening. Earlier in the week, Barkei helped NKU to a 1-0 win over Dayton. Barkei faced 13 shots and made three saves in the victory. Barkei’s record stands at 4-1-2 overall and 1-0-1 in Horizon League play, and he has a 0.85 goals against average. The Norse are 3-0-2 in the past five matches.
