INDIANAPOLIS- Wright State junior, Chelsea Welch has been selected as the Horizon League Player of the Week and Youngstown State's Mary Dunn has been tabbed for the fourth time this season as the Horizon League Freshman of the Week, respectively.

Welch sat out one minute of action this past week playing in 79 of 80 possible minutes. On the road versus Cleveland State, the junior posted 25 points with 13 of those points coming from the free throw line. The guard also recorded five rebounds and registered two steals in a hard-fought win over the Vikings.
Just two nights later, Welch followed up with a 21 point, seven rebound, six assist, and six steal game at Youngstown State. Welch’s strong outing came mostly in the second half when the team needed her most. The Kettering, Ohio native posted 14 points, six rebounds, six assists, and four steals in the second half battling off a tough Penguin squad down the stretch for the 68-64 victory. With the two wins on the week, Wright State is now two games clear in the standings.
This is the second player of the week honor for Welch on the year.
Mary Dunn / Youngstown State / Freshman / Forward / Washington, Pa.
Dunn averaged 12 points and five rebounds in Youngstown State’s two games in the past week. In the Penguins game versus Northern Kentucky, the freshman scored 18 points including 6-7 from the charity stripe and brought down a career-high eight boards. The forward’s performance helped Youngstown State pull away from the Norse in an overtime thriller. Dunn followed up with six points on 3-5 shooting in limited minutes versus league-leading Wright State. For the week Dunn shot 9-16 for a 56.3 percent clip.
Dunn now has four freshman of the week honors on the season which is best amongst all freshman in the Horizon League this season.
