INDIANAPOLIS – Milwaukee and IUPUI earn this week’s Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors. The Milwaukee Panthers’ senior Anna Smalley is awarded Offensive Player of the Week after leading her team to a 3-0 victory over Indiana State. Sophomore goalkeeper Sophia Lipka earned Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week by posting two consecutive shutouts.

Smalley helped UWM cap a 2-0 weekend at home with a brilliant individual effort Sunday. After being held without a point Friday, Smalley netted the first goal of the day against Indiana State in the eighth minute before adding assists on the next two goals in a 3-0 victory.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK | SOPHIA LIPKA | IUPUI | SOPHOMORE | GOALKEEPER | INDIANAPOLIS, IND.

Lipka posted back-to-back shutouts in goal in consecutive 1-0 victories at Manhattan and Wagner. She totaled 10 saves for the week while lowering her GAA to 1.13 overall and upping her save percentage to .806. Lipka is now 3-1 on the road this season, having yielded just two goals in four road matches.
