INDIANAPOLIS—UIC’s Kei Ishimaru (Sycamore, Ill.) and Milwaukee’s Natalie Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) have been named Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Swimmers of the Week while Milwaukee’s K.J. Heger (Rockford, Ill.) and Oakland’s Tricia Grant (West Bloomfield, Mich.) have been named Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Divers of the Week for the week of Oct. 29 - Nov. 4.

Ishimaru led the Flames to a victory over the weekend in a dual meet against Milwaukee where he took first place in all of his individual events and was a member of a winning relay. His individual victories came in the 100-fly in a time of 50.58, the 200-individual medley with a time of 1:54.24 and 200-fly in a time of 1:52.31. Ishimaru’s winning team in the 200-medley relay finished in a time of 1:34.70.

Johnson swept her individual events in dual meets against Wheaton College and UIC. Against Wheaton, she broke the UWM freshman record in the 1000-free in a time 10:14.58. Johnson placed first in the 500-free in a time of 5:04.39, 200-fly with a time of 2:07.43 and the mile in a time of 17:16.56. All of her freestyle events are currently fastest in the Horizon League and her mile time is top-50 in the country.

Heger earned his third Horizon League honor collecting victories on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards at UIC. He won the 1-meter with a score of 318.35 and 3-meter with a score of 376.50. His score on the 3-meter board broke the Flames Natatorium record; he also holds the 1-meter record at the pool.

Grant swept the diving events against Wright State, earning her third-straight Horizon League honor. On the 1-meter board, she posted a score of 276.94 and just missed the team record on the 3-meter board with a score of 329.32. This is the third meet in-a-row that she has placed first in both diving events.

The Flames are back in the water for a dual meet against Wyoming Friday, Nov. 8. Oakland women stay at home for a dual meet against Bowling Green Friday, Nov. 8 while the men travel to Eastern Michigan Saturday, Nov. 9. Milwaukee takes a short break from competition before they compete at the Stevens Point Border Battle Friday, Nov. 15 and Saturday, Nov. 16.
