INDIANAPOLIS - UIC junior McKinzie Jacobs has been named the Horizon League Women's Swimmer of the Week while Flames teammate Laurel Heath claims Women's Diver of the Week honors for the period of Dec. 14-Dec. 20
Jacobs recorded a first-place performance and runner up honors in a dual meet win over Western Illinois this past weekend. The Freeport, Ill., native, touched the wall first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:16.82. Her silver medal time of 1:59.78 came in the 200 freestyle. Jacobs earns her first career weekly accolade.
Heath took home first-place honors off the three-meter board, helping her squad in the dual meet win. The Long Grove, Ill., native, totaled 226.89 from the three-meter height as the junior picks up her first Diver of the Week honor.
