INDIANAPOLIS – Youngstown State sophomore hurdler Chad Zallow and Milwaukee junior hurdler and jumper Melissa Kirchoff have been named Horizon League Alfreeda Goff Athletes of the Year as voted on by the league’s head coaches.

Zallow is one of the top hurdlers in the nation, with a national-best time of 13.37 at the Florida Relays. Zallow earned the Percy Beard Award for winning elite races versus top competition. He also is a force to be reckoned with in the sprints, holding the Horizon League’s top time in the 200 meters while boasting a top-five 100 meter.

Kirchoff is one of the most dynamic Horizon League competitors, excelling in sprints, hurdles and jumps. The Milwaukee junior holds top-three league performances in the 100 hurdles (13.81), triple jump (11.94m) and long jump (5.61m). The multi-talented performer also holds one of the league’s best 200m times (25.78).

Both Zallow and Kirchoff will be recognized and received their awards at the Horizon League Track and Field Championships.
