 Butler moved up to 21st in this week's Associated Press Top 25 and 17th in the ESPN-USA Today Coaches Poll.

 Following a light mid-week schedule, the League slate features eight home games on Saturday, highlighted by Butler hosting Xavier on ESPN2 and #6/6 West Virginia at Cleveland State, plus Youngstown State at Green Bay in a rare mid-December conference affair.

 Gordon Hayward had 24 points and eight rebounds as Butler (7-3) beat a ranked team for the first time in four tries this season, holding off #15/13 Ohio State on Saturday 74-66 on ESPN.

 Brandon McPherson and Cory Johnson scored 15 points each to lead Valparaiso to a 81-49 victory against Toledo on Saturday as the Crusaders bounced back after consecutive losses against Butler and Purdue.

 Jared Cunningham scored 18 points and Norris Cole 16 as Cleveland State ended a five-game losing streak with a 113-61 victory over Wilberforce on Saturday for the Vikings' fifth-highest point total in school history.

 Green Bay defeated #20/23 Wisconsin 88-84 in overtime last Wednesday for the first time in 17 all-time meetings behind a career-high 22 points from Bryquis Perine.
