INDIANAPOLIS - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee freshman Nathan Welchlin has been named the Horizon League Men's Swimmer of the Week while University of Wisconsin-Green Bay sophomore Daniel Pogue earned Men's Diver of the Week accolades for the period of Nov. 2-Nov. 8.

Welchlin racked up two first-place medals this past weekend in a tri-meet at University of Illinois at Chicago and against Wheaton College (Ill.). The Overland Park, Kan., native touched the wall first in the 100-yard butterfly (WC) and 200 freestyle (UIC) races timing in at 50.92 and 1:42.41, respectively. His time of 46.82 in the 100 free earned him second place at UIC, while contributing a fourth-place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 51:15.

Pogue recorded four first-place finishes in double-header victories against South Dakota State at home on Saturday. The Chisholm, Minn., native recorded scores of 259.05 and 261.75 from the one-meter board, and 301.50 and 297.75 off the three-meter board.

Welchlin earns his first Swimmer-of-the-Week award while Pogue is honored with his third career accolade.

Green Bay resumes action with a home meet on Thursday against South Dakota while Milwaukee travels to South Dakota on Friday.
