INDIANAPOLIS -- Milwaukee junior forward Krissy Dorre [Joliet, Ill./West (Lewis)] is the Horizon League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Valparaiso senior goalkeeper Kristen Manski (St. Charles, Ill./North) has earned Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 2-8. The award is the second of both players’ careers.
Milwaukee (0-5-1) continued its challenging non-conference stretch, dropping a 1-0 decision at DePaul on Friday before
rallying from two three-goal deficits to draw with Vanderbilt, 4-4. Valparaiso (4-2-0) opened the weekend with a 1-0 victory over Northwestern ahead of a 1-0 decision over IPFW on Sunday.
Dorre netted the first hat trick in the Horizon League this year against Vanderbilt, striking three times in the second half to help the Panthers overcome 3-0 and 4-1 deficits. Collecting a rebound in the box, Dorre scored her first of the game in the 47th minute to bring Milwaukee within 3-1. After Vanderbilt goal, Dorre scored her second in the 59th minute on an absolute blast from 30 yards out, placing the ball in the far corner of the net and past the diving keeper to again close the gap to two.
Dorre then completed the hat trick in the 67th minute after Amy Kauffung earned a foul just outside the box. A free kick and a header put the ball to Dorre, who headed it home to make it a one-goal game. The hat trick was the first by a Milwaukee players since Sarah Hagen on Oct. 28, 2011.
Making eight saves across two games, Manski collected her 25th and 26th career shutouts, moving into third place on the Horizon League career saves list. Manksi’s 1-0 shutout of Northwestern was the program’s first-ever win over a Big Ten opponent.
The senior has allowed one or fewer goals in 19 consecutive matches.
Milwaukee will be on the road for two matches this weekend, beginning with a match at Miami (Ohio) on Friday, Sept. 13, at 4 p.m. ET. The Panthers will wrap the trip in Madison, Wis., taking on the University of Wisconsin on Sunday, Sept. 15, at 2 p.m. ET. Valparaiso will travel across the state of Indiana this week, meeting IUPUI on Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. ET. The Crusaders will then take on Evansville on Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. ET.

Heidi Hartmann, Green Bay (So., F) - Netted the equalizer in Green Bay’s 1-1 draw at Drake.
Joan Sieja, Oakland (So., F/M) - Assisted on two of Oakland’s three goals over the weekend, helping the Golden Grizzlies to a 1-0-1 mark.
Katriona Asnesini, Valparaiso (Fr., F) - Scored the match-winner in Valpo’s 1-0 win against Northwestern.

Sarah Reynolds, Oakland (So., D) - Scored her first collegiate goal against Michigan State before keying the backline in a 2-0 win over Western Michigan.
Brooke McCurdy, Wright State (Sr., GK) - Posted 15 saves, with an own goal the only shot to beat her in matches against Western Michigan and Iowa.
