The lone senior on the Butler women's soccer team, Natalie Galovska will not have her parents escorting her out, as is the Senior Night custom, on Friday night. Instead, Galovska has chosen to dedicate her Senior Night to some of Indiana Soccer's TOPSoccer program's players, who will accompany the keeper during ceremonies.
TOPSoccer programs around the state provide opportunities for those with special needs to experience the fun of playing soccer; the organization has partnered with the Butler women's soccer program over the years, and will stage a soccer exhibition during halftime of Friday night's match versus Loyola (7 p.m. ET). Those in attendance will not only have the opportunity to share in the joy generated by this program, but will also have an opportunity to support the TOPSoccer programs that are located across the state of Indiana.
Galovska started a TOPSoccer program in her hometown of Macomb, Mich., this summer after being impacted by the enthusiasm and passion of the athletes.
Across all 10 campuses, the Horizon League Student-Athlete Advisory Committee reaffirmed its committment to the Special Olympics this year, with each school engaging their local branch of the Special Olympics to hold events for the athletes throughout the year.
