EUGENE, Ore. – Youngstown State’s Conner Neu and Milwaukee’s Nate Pozolinski each earned All-America honors at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon. Neu came home 13th in the hammer throw, while Pozolinski was 22nd in the 110 meter hurdles.

For Neu, it marks the second time in his career he received second-team All-America status on the outdoor circuit. Neu registered a throw of 66.33m (217-7) on his second throw which left him in fourth place following the conclusion of the first heat.

Neu fouled on his first try before finishing with a toss of 65.98m on his third and final attempt of his collegiate career.

The results of the second heat knocked Neu down to 13th place, the best NCAA finish of his outdoor career. As a sophomore in 2014, he finished 15th with a mark of 63.61m.

Winning the event was Oklahoma State's Nick Miller who had a winning throw of 73.98m on his last attempt. Miller had a pair of throws of 73 meters plus at the championships.

Running in what proved to be in the fastest heat and in the only heat to face a head wind, Pozolinski finished the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.21 for eighth in his heat and 22nd in the nation, earning Honorable Mention All-American honors.

Devon Allen, who won the national title in the event two years ago as a freshman, topped the preliminary field on his home track with a time of 13.38 to lead the top-eight into Friday's final.

With the finish, Milwaukee officially has two All-Americans in the same year since 1996 when Cory Peterson finished 10th in the indoor 800m and Angie Molter placed 15th in the outdoor 10,000m. Nate joins older brother Brett Pozolinski for that prestigious honor after Brett took fifth in the indoor high jump earlier this year.

Brett Pozolinski will look to earn similar honors again on Friday, as he competes in the high jump. The event is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET.
