Eugene, Ore. – Milwaukee’s Brett Pozolinski closed out his intercollegiate track and field career at the NCAA Championships at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon Friday evening. With a 10th place finish in the high jump, Pozolinski earned All-American honors.

Pozolinski was able to clear 2.14 meters (7 feet, ¼ inch) in finishing 10th. Pozolinski cleared his first two heights (2.09m/6-10 ¼ and 2.14m/7-0 ¼) on his first attempts before coming up just short at 2.19m/7-2 ¼, which would have tied his personal best and his own school record.

USC's Randall Cunningham – son of the former NFL quarterback with the same name – won this year's national title by clearing 2.25m (7-4 ½).

"What an awesome finish for Brett and for our team at the nation's biggest meet," Milwaukee head coach Pete Corfeld said. "This is one of the all-time best seasons for any of our athletes. This is the first time somebody has finished as an All-American indoor and outdoor, which is a big deal for anyone.

"Not only that, but to have two All-Americans at the same meet is an incredible feat for our program. Both Brett and Nate (Pozolinski) finished higher than their seeding, something our athletes have been doing at big meets not just this year, but for a long time now.

"Hats off to our assistant coaches. They did tremendous work and put in countless hours all year long. This is certainly a season we'll all remember for a long time."

Pozolinski – who finished First Team All-American in indoor high jump – graduates as the top high jumper in Panther history and one of the best in Horizon League history.

The senior joined his brother, Nate, as outdoor track and field All-Americans. On Wednesday, Brett Pozolinski finished 22nd in the nation, earning Honorable Mention All-American honors.

At the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, Brett took fifth in the indoor high jump earlier this year.
