LAS VEGAS - Kay Felder scored 27 points with seven assists and Xavier Hill-Mais recorded a career-best 16 points as the Oakland men's basketball team defeated Towson, 90-72, on Monday in the opening round of the Vegas 16 postseason tournament from the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

Martez Walker added 14 points on 11-for-11 shooting from the free-throw line. Jalen Hayes led the team with seven rebounds.

Nick Daniels hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Golden Grizzlies a 45-28 lead at intermission and pushed the lead to as many as 20 early in the second half. Towson was able to cut the lead to single-digits but a 3-pointer and three-straight free throws by Walker, followed by a Felder alley-oop dunk with three minutes to play pushed the lead back up to 15 points where it stayed for the remainder of the game.

Mike Morsell led the Tigers with 22 points and William Adala Moto tallied a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

The Golden Grizzlies advance to the semifinals of the Vegas 16 Tournament and will play the winner of Louisiana Tech-East Tennessee State at 11:30 p.m. ET.
