Kay Felder recorded his second career triple-double with 29 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, while Max Hooper scored a career-high 28 points with eight 3-pointers as the Oakland men's basketball team defeated East Tennessee State, 104-81, on Tuesday in the semifinals of the Vegas 16 postseason tournament.
The Golden Grizzlies advance to their first championship game in a postseason tournament on Wednesday where they will face Old Dominion at 10 p.m. ET.
Felder's previous triple-double was on Feb. 14, 2014 against Detroit inside the Athletics Center O'rena. He is the only player in program history to earn a triple-double. Felder also broke the Horizon League's single-season assists record and currently sits at 313 for the season.
Hooper's eight 3-pointers is tied for the second-most this season as he hit a career-best four free throws en route to his career-high.
The Golden Grizzlies led by only two points at half, 39-37, but used a 65-point second half to defeat the Buccaneers. ETSU led 53-52 with 14:19 remaining in the second half before Oakland went on a 14-3 run and never trailed the rest of the game. Felder has 18 points and seven assists in the second half and Hooper added 15 to secure the win.
Percy Gibson scored 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting, while Martez Walker added 10.
ETSU had five players score in double-figures led by Ge'Lawn Guyn with 16 points with T.J. Cromer and Desonta Bradford chipping in 15 apiece.
