INDIANAPOLIS – The Oakland women’s soccer team will take on No. 3 seed Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Ind. in the opening round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament on Friday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. ET at Alumni Stadium. The Golden Grizzlies will make their eighth tournament appearance in program history and the first since 2012.
The Golden Grizzlies received an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament by defeating Wright State 1-0 (OT), in the Horizon League Tournament Championship last Saturday night in Milwaukee, Wis. The Fighting Irish earned a No. 3 seed by finishing sixth in the ACC at 13-4-1 (6-4-0).
Oakland is 0-6-1 all-time in NCAA tournament games, advancing to the second round after defeating Ohio State in penalty kicks in 2012. The Golden Grizzlies are 0-4-0 all-time against Notre Dame. The winner will take on the Connecticut/Siena winner in the second round Nov. 22-24.
