INDIANAPOLIS -- Oakland junior forward Kyla Kellermann (Elmvale, Ontario) is the Horizon League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Oakland senior goalkeeper Payj O’Shea (Wixom, Mich.) has been named Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 7-13.

Oakland pushed its Horizon League record to 2-2-0 after consecutive, 2-0 shutout home wins. The Golden Grizzlies topped both Valparaiso and Youngstown State.

On Wednesday, Kellermann was involved in both scoring plays for Oakland. Just 5:42 into the game against Valparaiso, the striker found the back of the net to put Oakland ahead 1-0. Later in the game, she assisted on an insurance goal in the 59th minute to seal a 2-0 win. Against Youngstown State, the junior forward netted her fourth goal of the season in the 17th minute. For the week Kellermann registered five points on five shots on goal, two goals and one helper.

O’Shea held a tight lid on the goal for Oakland, pitching her second and third shutouts of the season to post back-to-back clean sheets. Against Valparaiso the senior made six saves, including a second-half breakaway. Against Youngstown State she again posted a shutout, making three saves. For the week O’Shea played all 180 minutes in the goal and registered nine saves.

Oakland continues League play when it hosts Detroit on Saturday night at OU Soccer Field. The game is slated for a 7:00 p.m. ET kickoff with coverage on HLN.

Top Offensive Performers for the Week:
Alleina Szydlowski, Milwaukee (Fr., D) - First collegiate goal proved to be the game-winner at the 6:09 mark against Cleveland State. Also assisted the Panthers second goal to give her three points for the game.
Alyssa Riley, Detroit (Jr., MF) - Recorded her second career hat trick in a 8-0 win against Marygrove. Against Green Bay, the midfielder had three shots while helping Detroit stay perfect at home in a 1-0 OT victory.

Top Defensive Performers for the Week:
Paige Lincicum, Milwaukee (Fr., GK) - Recorded her first career shutout against Cleveland State. Made three saves in 90 minutes of work.
Kristen Manski, Valparaiso (Sr., GK) - Posted a 0-1-1 record; made four saves to earn a shutout draw against Wright State.
Martha Dunbar, Detroit (So., GK) - Recorded her third and fourth shutouts of the season against Marygrove and Green Bay. Had two saves for the week, with both coming against Green Bay.
