LISLE, Ill. -- The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men and Youngstown State University women sit atop their respective standings through two days of the 2009 Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The final day at Benedictine University is set for Sunday at 11 a.m. CT.

In the men's competition, Milwaukee (74 points) leads Youngstown State (70), the University of Illinois at Chicago (33), Butler University (30), Valparaiso University (24), the University of Detroit Mercy (9) and Loyola University Chicago (7).

In the women's competition, Youngstown State (94) paces Milwaukee (63), UIC (34), Detroit (22), Wright State University (12), Loyola (12), Butler (10) and Valparaiso (1).

Three Horizon League Championship Meet records were set on Saturday, while two NCAA Regional Qualifying marks were also reached.

Milwaukee junior Quinn Mongoven established a Horizon League standard and became NCAA eligible in the men's high jump (2.11 meters), while Butler junior Steve Lisgo did the same in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase (8:51.49).

In addition, Milwaukee junior Kelsey Conrad established a Horizon League record in the women's 200-meter preliminaries (24.20).

Several other events were completed on Saturday.

Winner on the men's side included Milwaukee senior Adam Schleis in the long jump (7.26 meters), Youngstown State senior Aaron Merrill in the discus (46.90 meters) and Valparaiso senior Bret Maynard in the javelin (54.55 meters).

Winners on the women's side included Loyola senior Jessie Morgenthal in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:17.63), YSU senior Jen Grayson in the high jump (1.64 meters), UIC junior Lauren Fogarty in the long jump (5.77 meters), YSU sophomore Danielle Curry in the discus (43.54 meters) and YSU sophomore Lyndsie Hall in the javelin (32.02 meters).

The men's decathlon and women's heptathlon also wrapped up on Saturday. UIC senior Mike Savegnago took the men's competition with 5,932 points, while Youngstown State senior Yandeh Joh claimed the women's event with 4,467 points.

The final day of action kicks off on Sunday at 11 a.m. CT.
