Eight schools will compete in the 2010 Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, April 30 through Sunday, May 2. The 13th annual men's and women's event will take place at Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill.

Milwaukee has claimed six consecutive men's titles, while Youngstown State is the defending women's champion, with five wins in six years.

Three of four men's specialty award winners are back in 2010, and all of the women's honorees return.

Youngstown State senior Aaron Merrill earned Most Outstanding Field Performer at the 2009 event, while YSU sophomore Kiplingat Tisia and Milwaukee sophomore Ben Crogan were named Newcomers of the Year.

UWM senior Kelsey Conrad and YSU junior Danielle Curry earned Most Outstanding Runner and Field Performer accolades, respectively, in 2009. Wright State sophomore Cassandra Lloyd and UIC sophomore Aimee Schuh were named Newcomers of the Year a season ago.

Competition begins on Friday at 10 a.m. CT. The three-day event will wrap up with awards on Sunday at approximately 4 p.m.
