Stelpflug, Yontz Named Swimmers of the Week and Roberts, Grant Named Divers of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS—Milwaukee’s Kenny Stelpflug (Clarkston, Mich.) and Anna Yontz (Canton, Ill.) have been named Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Swimmers of the Week while Cleveland State’s Danny Roberts (Fairview, Pa.) and Oakland’s Tricia Grant (West Bloomfield, Mich.) have been named Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Divers of the Week for the week of Nov. 12-18.

Stelpflug led Milwaukee to its eighth-straight Stevens Point Border Battle title in both his individual and relay events. He placed first in the mile in a time of 16:45.50 and 500-free with a time of 4:41.28. Stelpflug was also a member of the winning 800-free relay team that finished in a time of 6:59.89. To round out his individual performances, he swam the second-fastest time in the 200-individual medley and 400-individual medley.

The Panthers claimed their fifth-straight Stevens Point Border Battle title with Yontz leading the way. In her individual events, Yontz placed first in the 200-free in a time of 1:55.20 and swam the second-fastest times in the 50-free and 200-individual medley. She was also a member of the winning 200-free relay, 800-free relay and 400-medley relay teams.

Roberts swept the diving events in a dual meet against Niagara for the Vikings. He won the 1-meter with a score of 296.85 and finished with a score of 303.45 on the 3-meter board.

Grant earned her fourth Horizon League honor this season as she finished with the top score in both diving events in a dual meet against Wayne State. She shattered the team record on the 3-meter board with a score of 344.47 and won the 1-meter with a score of 290.10.

The Vikings are back in the water for the CSU Magnus Invitational on Nov. 22-24 while Oakland is back in action Friday-Saturday, Dec. 6-7, at the Eastern Michigan Invitational. Milwaukee heads to the Iowa Hawkeye Invitational for a three-day meet Dec. 6-8 in Iowa City, Iowa.
