It all comes down to the last weekend.

The Horizon League men’s soccer teams finish up their regular season play this weekend with three matchups that not only determine what six teams will make the tournament but what seed they will enter in as.

Here is the schedule:

Friday, November 8

10:00 p.m.—Wright State at San Diego State

Saturday, November 9

2:00 p.m.—Green Bay at UIC
8:00 p.m.—Detroit at Valparaiso
8:00 p.m.—Cleveland State at Milwaukee HLN

Horizon League rankings going into the weekend:

1. UIC (6-0-0) – 18 points
2. Oakland (4-2-1) – 13 points
3. Milwaukee (4-2-0) – 12 points
4. Cleveland State (3-3-0) – 9 points
5. Wright State (3-4-0) – 9 points
6. Green Bay (2-3-1) – 7 points
7. Valparaiso (1-3-2) – 5 points
8. Detroit (0-6-0) – 0 points

Going into the final weekend, only UIC has wrapped up their No. 1 seed going into the Horizon League Championship, all other seeds are still to be determined by the game outcomes Saturday. The top five teams have locked in positions in the tournament with Green Bay and Valparaiso fighting for the remaining spot. Detroit has been eliminated from postseason play.

Why do the rankings matter?

The Horizon League Championship consists of three rounds with the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds receiving byes to the second round. The higher ranked seed of the teams competing in the quarterfinals will be granted home field advantage on Tuesday, Nov. 12. After clinching the regular season title, UIC will host the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 15 and finals Sunday, Nov. 17 at Flames Field. All rounds of the Championship will be streamed on HLN.
