Top-seed Valparaiso entered Friday night as the only team that knew its seed for next week's Little Caesars Horizon League Men's Basketball Tournament, but by the time Oakland put the finishing touches on its Metro Series victory over Detroit the top six seeds for the championship had all been set.
Valparaiso and second-seed Oakland will both receive a double bye and open play at Joe Louis Arena on Monday, March 7. The Crusaders will play in the first semifinal with tip scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and televised on ESPNU. Oakland will play in the second semifinal which will also be shown on ESPNU.
Number three seed Wright State, four-seed Green Bay, five-seed Milwaukee and six-seed Detroit all will wear their home white uniforms Saturday as all four will be the higher seeds in their first round games.Cleveland State, Northern Kentucky, UIC and Youngstown State will also play in the first round on Saturday, but those four teams still have not had their seeds determined.
The Little Caesars Horizon League Basketball Tournament finishes on Tuesday, March 8 with the championship game at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.

With still one game remaining on the regular season schedule, the Green Bay men’s basketball team has secured the No. 4 seed in next weekend’s Little Caesar’s Horizon League Championship in Detroit, following its 85-69 win over UIC on Friday night at the Resch Center.
Oakland beats Detroit 108-97, clinches 2nd seed in Horizon
Kay Felder had 26 points, nine rebounds and a career-high 16 assists to lead Oakland to a 108-97 victory over Detroit on Friday night to clinch the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the Horizon League tournament.
Crusaders Emerge Victorious In Overtime Battle at Milwaukee
In a game which seemingly had more twists and turns than a five-act Broadway play, it was the Valparaiso University men’s basketball team which made the biggest play of the game, as senior Keith Carter stepped into a cold-blooded 3-pointer with 37 seconds to play in overtime, giving the Crusaders the lead for good in an eventual 80-76 victory over Milwaukee Friday evening in front of a national television audience.
