INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—UIC senior Jacki Fletcher (Lowell, Ind.) has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 5 Softball Team while Green Bay senior Stacey Butts (Greenfield, Wis.) and junior Hailey Mohrfeld (Menomonee, Wis.) have been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 6 Softball Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), announced Thursday.

Fletcher earns her second Academic All-District First Team accolade of her career while holding a perfect 4.0 grade point average enrolled in the Honors College of Kinesiology. In her four years at UIC, Fletcher earned the following academic honors: Horizon League Academic Honor Roll and All-Academic team member, NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete, Horizon League Scholar-Athlete of the Month (Feb. 2014) and three-time UIC Female Student-Athlete of the Year.

For the Flames’ softball team, the senior holds a .395 batting average while going 45-for-114 at the plate to maintain the one of the best batting averages on the team. This season, Fletcher has scored 20 runs, with eight doubles, two home runs, a .518 slugging percentage and 22 RBI. She has had 13 multi-hit games and at least one hit in 30 of UIC’s contests.

Butts holds a 3.81 grade point average at Green Bay while majoring in education with minors in human development and mathematics. She has been named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll each year of eligibility and has also garnered Dean’s List honors at Green Bay.

On the field for the Phoenix, Butts has a batting average of .303 with 23 hits, two doubles, one triple and two home runs. In addition, the senior has also tallied 19 RBI, scored 10 runs and is a perfect 1-for-1 on stolen base attempts.

Mohrfeld carries a 3.97 grade point average as a human biology major at the University. She has been a member of the Dean’s List at Green Bay as well as a member of the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll.

As the primary shortstop for the Phoenix, Mohrfeld holds a .317 batting average with 32 hits, five doubles and a triple. She leads the team with five home runs and 30 runs scored. In addition, Mohrfeld has collected 16 RBI and three stolen bases on four attempts.

To qualify, nominees must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials and at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average. They must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing, completed at least one full calendar year at the institution and participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s games.

All three student-athletes now qualify for Academic All-America consideration, set to be announced May 22.
