INDIANAPOLIS –UIC junior forward Jesus Torres (Chicago, Ill.) is the Horizon League Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Green Bay freshman defender Brandon Hall (O’Fallon, Mo.) has earned Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 14-20.

In an exciting week of Horizon League matchups, UIC (11-3-0, 4-0-0) remained undefeated in conference play defeating nationally-ranked Milwaukee followed by a double overtime victory against Wright State. Leading the Horizon League standings, the Flames have won 11 of their last 12 games and five straight.

Torres scored the game-winner against Milwaukee in the 66th minute off a pass from teammate Slobodan Aleksov, marking his fourth goal of the season and second game-winner. Torres continued to ignite UIC’s offense with a game-winning assist in double overtime against Wright State. He currently leads the Flames and Horizon League in assists with eight.

Green Bay (7-4-3, 2-1-1) split the week with a loss to Drake but bounced back to defeat conference-foe Detroit 2-0 at Aldo Santaga Stadium. The Phoenix set the tempo early against the Titans and notched a goal in each half while goalkeeper Dary DeWalt earned his first career shutout.

Hall broke the scoreless tie against Detroit in the 43rd minute during a set piece off of a Titan handball outside of the box. The ball was served-up into the box and bounced off of several players allowing Hall to collected it and slot it past Detroit’s goalkeeper. The goal was the first in his collegiate career.

UIC travels to Indiana to take on Valparaiso Friday, Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. EST at Brown Field while Green Bay returns to action against Wright State Saturday, Oct. 26 for a match under the lights at 7 p.m. EST at Alumni Field.

Top Offensive Performers of the Week:
Adam Bedell, Detroit (Sr., MF)—Third multi-goal game of the season against Western Michigan and has had eight goals in the last nine games.
Sergio Manesio, Cleveland State (Fr., MF)—Manesio scored the game-winning goal against Bowling Green and leads the team with four goals.

Top Defensive Performers of the Week:
Austin Saini, Cleveland State (So., GK)—Helped Cleveland State to a 1-0 double overtime victory over Bowling Green with two saves in the match.
