INDIANAPOLIS -- Green Bay sophomore Julie Wojta has been named Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period of Dec. 7-13. The selection marks Wojta's first career weekly honor from the League office.

Wojta, a forward from Mishicot, Wis., averaged 15.5 points, 5.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds in two non-conference victories last week. She drilled 13-of-23 (.565) from the floor, 2-of-3 from beyond the arc and 3-of-3 from the free-throw line.

Wojta recorded 12 points, seven assists and five rebounds in an 83-63 win at defending Mid-American Conference-champion Ball State on Thursday. She then tallied 19 points, four assists and three boards in an 83-37 victory at Evansville on Saturday.

Wojta ranks among League leaders in assist-to-turnover ratio (1st, 1.7), field-goal percentage (3rd, .557), assists (5th, 5.1), steals (T-8th, 1.6) and rebounds (10th, 5.6) through nine contests this season.

Green Bay (9-0), which is off to its best Division I start in school history, returns to action on Saturday when Marquette visits the Kress Events Center at 8 p.m. ET. The Phoenix received 47 votes in the most-recent Associated Press poll, which was good for 28th in the nation.
