INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State freshman Hanna Floyd (Minster, Ohio) and junior Krystian DeWitt (Garden Grove, Calif.) have been named the Horizon League Hitter of the Week and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.
It is the first award of the season for Floyd and the second for DeWitt.
In five games this week, Floyd batted .467 (7-for-15) with three runs scored and nine RBI. The shortstop hit two home runs, laid down a pair of sac bunts and was successful in her only stolen base attempt. During a three-game series against Detroit, the freshman went 6-for-12 (.500) with two homers, eight RBI and three runs scored.
DeWitt pitched in four of Wright State's five games this week, starting twice. The junior posted a 4-0 record and 1.03 ERA (three earned runs in 20.1 innings pitched. In two complete games and two relief appearances (both 3.2 innings long), DeWitt posted a .195 batting average against and recorded 21 strikeouts.
The Raiders play a pair on non-conference doubleheaders against in-state rivals Miami (tomorrow) and Ohio State (Wednesday) before traveling to Loyola for a Horizon League series this weekend.
