INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State senior Breanna Stucke (Tip City, Ohio) is the Horizon League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week while Detroit’s Darianne Seward (Columbus, Ohio) is the Freshman of the Week for the week of Jan. 26-Feb. 1. This week marks the third accolade Seward has collected this season.

Wright State (16-5, 5-2) contested in one game this past week on the road facing Oakland at the O’rena. The Raiders set a school record for the most points scored against a Division I opponent in the 108-89 victory. In the early minutes of the ballgame, the two squads exchanged several lead changes before Wright State took the lead for good after a 10-0 run. The Raiders exploded offensively throughout the entire contest, shooting 56 percent overall from the field and were 12 of 22 from behind the arc.

Stucke recorded a career-high of 24 points versus the Golden Grizzlies with 17 points coming in the second half on 6-of-9 shooting. She was also just one shy of tying a career-high in rebounds with 13. Her double-double performance marked the senior’s third this season and first during conference play. In addition, Stucke added four assists in the contest to compliment her field goal percentage of 69.2 percent.

Detroit (8-12, 3-4) took the road this week to compete against Youngstown State at the Beeghly Center. After being down double-digit points at the half, the Titans surged the final 20 minutes of the game fueled by a 22-4 run after the intermission. The game would battle back-and-forth a majority of the second half as Detroit took hold of the lead and eventual win off of key free throws down the stretch. The Titans defeated the Penguins 59-58 to give Youngstown State its first home loss of the season.

Seward was a main contributor to the Titans’ squad in the second half, scoring all of her 10 points during the final 20 minutes of the comeback victory. The freshman grabbed seven rebounds in the game to tab her second-best rebounding performance thus far on the year. Seward also dished out two assists while tallying one block against the Penguins in her 25 minutes on the court.

Wright State and Detroit are back in action Thursday, February 5 continuing League play. The Raiders host Youngstown State at 12:00 p.m. ET while the Titans welcome Valparaiso for a 7:00 p.m. ET tip-off. Wright State then hosts Valparaiso on Saturday, February 7 for a 2:00 p.m. ET start time. All games are set to be streamed on ESPN3, respectively.
