Vikings Come Up Short At Eastern Michigan, 71-68
YPSILANTI, Mich. – Despite a complete team effort, the Cleveland State women's basketball team came up short at Eastern Michigan Tuesday evening, falling to the Eagles 71-68. The Vikings now stand at 3-3 on the season, while the Eagles improve to 5-2.
Once again the Vikings had three players finish with double-digit points, led by Imani Gordon who tallied a season-high 19 points along with seven rebounds. Cori Coleman was just shy of a double-double, posting 18 points and nine rebounds, while Alexis Eckles finished with 10 points and seven boards. Ashanti Abshaw was also just shy of a double-double, notching a team-high 10 rebounds and eight points.
As a team, the Vikings grabbed 41 rebounds, just the second time this season that CSU has notched at least 40 boards. Read more
Reynolds’ Career-High 33 Leads Detroit Past IPFW-- Box Score
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (12/2/2014) -- Redshirt sophomore Rosanna Reynolds scored a career-high 33 points and grabbed a career-best 11 rebounds to lead the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team to a come-from-behind 81-74 overtime victory on Tuesday at the Gates Sports Center.
It was her second career double-double as she drained seven 3-pointers and had four assists in 43 minutes of action. Reynolds is just the 18th Titan in school history to score at least 30 points in a game, while she was just one three shy of tying the school record. The 33 points is the most by a Titan since teammate Ellisha Crosby had 33 versus Eastern Michigan last season.
Sophomore Haleigh Ristovski posted a season-high 13 points and career-high 11 rebounds for her first career double-double and freshman Chea Taylor had six points and a season-high eight rebounds in 12 minutes of court time. Read more
Panthers Earn Solid Victory Over UMKC To Close Road Trip-- Box Score
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Senior Ashley Green led the way with 24 points and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball team led the entire way in defeating UMKC, 72-60, Tuesday evening at Swinney Recreation Center.
"We've played a really tough schedule so far and to be on the road and get this win was key for us," Milwaukee head coach Kyle Rechlicz said. "We are excited to get it and now we are excited to go home and play games with our fans in the stands."
The Panthers (2-4) jumped ahead of the Kangaroos (2-5) by 13 at intermission and allowed the lead to slip under double-digits on just one occasion in the second half. Freshman Jenny Lindner took care of the momentum at that point, scoring eight points in a row to give Milwaukee a 58-44 lead with just over eight minutes to play. Read more
