Detroit senior Anton Wilson, a native of Flint, Mich., is working to bring water and needed supplies home via the Flint Water Drive.

The Flint Water Drive is a collaboration of University of Detroit Mercy student organizations with the help of various departments to provide water and needed supplies to Flint. There are both short-term and long-term actions UDM is incorporating into this response.

Short Term
During the month of February and March, UDM students and student-athletes are collecting water and supplies at several events and collection spaces. The list of needed item includes:
- Bottled water
- Hand sanitizer
- Baby wipes
- Toothbrushes
- Mouthwash
- Disposable plates
- Buckets
- Money

Throughout February and March, there are various ways water is being collected:
- Drop off stations on all three University of Detroit Mercy campuses
- Campus events, including the 2016 bonfire
- "Fill the Truck" events on campus during baskeball games

All the proceeds will benefit three specific places:
- Detroit Sip, which is serving as a Flint water collection site and distributor. The water will be donated to New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, Carpenter Road, Flint, MI 48505.
- Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish - 2316 Coldwater Road, Flint, MI 48505 is a pastoral center for the Hispanic community in Flint.
- Anton Wilson Initiative, which will benefit the Broome Center, 4119 North Saginaw Street, Flint, MI 48505.

This coming Monday, along with the help of Absopure Water, UDM Athletics and the men's basketball team will assist Wilson’s Initiative in Flint. The men’s basketball program will be arriving at the Broome Center on Monday, February 22 at 4pm ET to help hand out and stack inside the center. To assist, fans can drop off supplies directly to the Broome Center or any of the drop-off locations on the UDM campuses.
