Penguins Solid All-Around In Big Win Over Oakland-- Box Score
Youngstown -- The Youngstown State women's basketball team scored 14 straight points near the end of the first half and shot 76 percent in the second half to beat Oakland 76-54 on Wednesday evening at Beeghly Center.

The Penguins outscored the Golden Grizzlies 48-32 in the second half to snap a two-game skid and improve to 16-7 overall and 5-5 in Horizon League play. Oakland drops to 10-13 overall and 4-6 in the conference.

Heidi Schlegel led all players with 20 points, and Nikki Arbanas set YSU's freshman record for 3-pointers made in a season with 42. Arbanas finished with 11 points, Kelsea Newman posted 13, and Latisha Walker had 10 points and a game-high nine rebounds. Read more

Oakland Drops 76-54 Contest at Youngstown State-- Box Score
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Nola Anderson scored 13 points and Sinclair Russell added 11 as the Oakland women's basketball team (10-13, 4-6 HL) fell to Youngstown State (16-7, 5-5 HL), 76-54, Wednesday evening at the Beeghly Center.

Anderson and Russell combined to shoot 10-of-14 from the floor as Oakland shot 40 percent for the game including 52 percent in the second half. Anderson tallied her 14th double-digit point effort of the season and recorded a team-high six rebounds. Russell collected her eighth double-figure point game of the season. Elena Popkey tallied eight points to pass Sharise Calhoun for 25th on the program's all-time scoring list.

Youngstown State shot 55 percent for the game including 76 percent on 19-of-25 shooting in the second period. The Penguins were led by Heidi Schlegel with 20 points, while Kelsea Newman added 13. Read more

Titans Put Out The Flames, 76-68, On The Road On Wednesday-- Box Score
CHICAGO (2/11/15) -- Four Titans scored in double figures and UDM outscored the Flames, 20-9, in the last eight minutes as the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team pushed past UIC, 76-68, on the road on Wednesday night.

Freshman Darianne Seward and senior Ellisha Crosby led the way with 19 points apiece. Redshirt sophomore Rosanna Reynolds added 16 points and a season-high  four steals and freshman Nicole Urbanick tallied 12 points.

The win moved Detroit to 9-13 on the season and 4-5 in the Horizon League, while UIC dropped to 14-9, 4-6 in conference play. Read more

Ruvanna Campbell Reaches 1,000 Points in UIC's Loss to Detroit-- Box Score
CHICAGO – The UIC women’s basketball team (14-9, 4-6 HL) dropped a 76-68 home contest to Detroit (9-13, 4-5 HL) Wednesday night at the UIC Pavilion. The Titans converted 42 percent of their three-pointers (8-of-19) and finished the game on a 20-9 run.

UDM set UIC opponent season bests in points scored (76), field goals made (27) and fewest fouls (11). The Titans shot 50.9 percent from the floor, drained eight three-pointers and only committed 12 turnovers. UDM shot 57 percent in the second half, including 6-of-9 from downtown.

UIC dominated inside as the Flames outrebounded the Titans 39-33, scored 40 points in the paint and tallied 12 second-chance points. The Flames grabbed 14 offensive rebounds and limited the Titans to six offensive caroms. Read more
