Valparaiso improved to 9-2 for the season with an impressive, 89-71, win against an Indiana State squad that knocked off then-No. 15 Butler just 10 days prior. Alec Peters scored 29 points and hauled in 15 rebounds for the Crusaders. Detroit Mercy rallied past Western Kentucky behind 24 points and 8 assists from Josh McFolley, with 16 of his game-high coming in the second half.

at (RV) Valparaiso 89, Indiana State 71
VALPARAISO, Ind. – Alec Peters scored a game-high 29 points and corralled 15 rebounds as Valparaiso dispatched Indiana State, 89-71, Saturday night. The Crusaders led by eight points at halftime and built the lead to as many as 31 points in the second half.

Valpo was effective on the glass, holding a 49-31 rebounding advantage, including 15 offensive rebounds that turned into 18 second-chance points. The Crusaders also connected on 11-of-22 from 3-point range and 22-of-27 at the foul line.

at Detroit Mercy 85, Western Kentucky 79
DETROIT (Detroit Mercy Athletics) -- Sophomore Josh McFolley scored 16 of his game-high 24 points in the second period as the Titans used a second-half offensive and defensive surge to race past Western Kentucky, 85-79, on Saturday afternoon.

McFolley drained six 3-pointers in going 9-of-15 from the field, while also handing out a career-high eight assists and recording three steals. Junior Jaleel Hogan tied his season high with 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds in just 21 minutes of action. Freshman Corey Allen added 16 points, two assists and two steals and senior Chris Jenkins posted 12 points, six rebounds and two assists.
