Cleveland State 63, Wright State 84

The Wright State women's basketball team connected on 13 three-pointers and Mackenzie Taylor scored a career-high 21 points as the Raiders defeated Cleveland State 84-63 in Horizon League action Saturday afternoon at the Wright State Nutter Center.

The game featured two ties and eight lead changes in the first six-plus minutes until an Emily Vogelpohl three gave WSU the lead for good at 17-15 with 3:23 remaining in the opening period.

Milwaukee 85, Valparaiso 74

VALPARAISO, Ind. – The Milwaukee women's basketball team overcame an eight-point deficit at the half and hit a season-high 14 three-pointers in an 85-74 win over Valparaiso Saturday afternoon from the ARC.

Milwaukee (11-4, 3-1 Horizon) finished the game on an 8-0 run and limited the Crusaders (5-10, 0-4 Horizon) to just 3-for-16 shooting in to the final quarter for the big road win.

Detroit Mercy 80, Oakland 71

ROCHESTER, Mich. (1/7/2017) -- The Titans are 3-0 in the Horizon League for the first time since 2004-05 and they beat their rivals on the road to get there.

Using an overwhelming fourth quarter and getting clutch stops and baskets when it mattered, the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team improved to 3-0 in the Horizon League with an 80-71 road victory at rival Oakland on Saturday. The Titans out-scored their #MetroSeries rivals by a 27-12 margin in the final quarter. The win was the second in as many years at the O'Rena under head coach Bernard Scott.

Green Bay 79, UIC 65

CHICAGO, Ill. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Closing out its first road trip of 2017, the Green Bay (13-2, 4-0) women’s basketball team used a strong second half to win its fifth-straight game and defeat UIC (3-12, 0-4) 79-65 at the UIC Pavilion on Saturday afternoon. Mehryn Kraker scored 26 points in the victory and moved into a tie for 10th place on Green Bay’s all-time scoring list with Kayla Tetschlag at 1,372 career points.

Green Bay’s offense came out firing in the first quarter of play, burying back-to-back triples from Kraker and Jessica Lindstrom to jump out to a 6-0 lead over UIC. By the end of the quarter, the Phoenix had worked to a 19-10 lead over the Flames, with Kraker, Lindstrom and Laken James all contributing five points.

Youngstown State 81, Northern Kentucky 87 OT

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky women's basketball secured its first win of the 2016-17 Horizon League schedule, outlasting Youngstown State at home in overtime, 87-81. With the win, the Norse advance to 5-11 overall and 1-3 in League play while the Penguins drop to 4-10 (0-3 HL).
