INDIANAPOLIS – Northern Kentucky’s Lavone Holland II has been named Horizon League Player of the Week after averaging 23.5 points per game and leading the Norse to an unbeaten week, extending their winning streak to four games. Oakland’s Isaiah Brock is the Freshman of the Week after blocking a career-high five shots and shooting 80 percent from the floor as the Golden Grizzlies extended their best Division I start to 9-1.

Player of the Week | Lavone Holland II | Northern Kentucky | Junior | Guard | Louisville, Ky.
Holland averaged 23.5 points per game and posted a career-high 28 points, including 6 3-pointers, during NKU’s win against Eastern Illinois. The junior guard followed with 19 points in a road win at SEMO. For the week, Holland connected on 9-of-17 from 3-point range to help the Norse to an unbeaten week.

This is the first Player of the Week honor for Holland and the second for an NKU player this season (Drew McDonald, Dec. 5).

Freshman of the Week – Isaiah Brock | Oakland | Forward | Baltimore
Brock blocked a career-high five shots and converted 80 percent of his field goal attempts as Oakland extended its best Division I start (9-1) with a win at Robert Morris. Brock finished with nine points and five rebounds for the Golden Grizzlies and leads the conference in field goal percentage at 80 percent.

This is Brock’s second Horizon League Freshman of the Week honor. He previously earned the award Nov. 28.
