INDIANAPOLIS – The Milwaukee Panthers claim both of this week’s Player of the Week awards. Junior forward Lourdes Onwuemeka finished the second week of the season with one goal and one assist and has been named Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week. Milwaukee goalkeeper Mallory Geurts repeats as Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week after adding two more shutout.

Onwuemeka had a great weekend in leading the Panthers to a 2-0 mark. She scored the only goal in UWM's 1-0 win over Southeast Missouri Friday and followed that up with the assist on the game-winner in Sunday's 2-0 win at Eastern Illinois. She finished the two games with five shots, all on goal.

Geurts was at it again, recording two more shutouts to run her season-opening stretch to four clean sheets in a row - a span of 380 consecutive scoreless minutes in goal. She recorded five saves in the 1-0 win over SEMO Friday and followed that up with three more in the 2-0 win at EIU. She now has 18 saves and a perfect 0.00 GAA on the season.
