INDIANAPOLIS -- Loyola senior midfielder Tricia Stonebraker (Anchorage, Alaska) is the Horizon League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Wright State junior goalkeeper Brooke McCurdy (Peterborough, Ontario) has earned Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 17-23. The award is the first of both players’ careers.

Loyola (6-4-1, 1-0-0 Horizon) extended its unbeaten streak to six matches, winning its Horizon League opener, 1-0, over Cleveland State on Friday before stepping back into non-conference play to post a 1-0 victory at Indiana State on Sunday. In its lone match of the week, Wright State (5-2-3, 1-0-0 Horizon) used a goal with two seconds remaining in double overtime to knock off Milwaukee, 1-0, on Saturday.

Stonebraker had three points across the two matches, beginning with an assist on Brielle Haupt’s goal just three minutes into Loyola’s win over Cleveland State. The senior fielded a corner kick and fed Haupt, who turned in the game-winner. Two days later, it was Stonebraker’s turn to post the game-winner, receiving a pass in the 68th minute and beating the Indiana State keeper. Stonebraker’s five points on the year lead a balanced Rambler offense.

In Wright State’s Horizon League-opener, McCurdy turned aside nine Milwaukee shots on goal across 110 minutes, turning in her fourth shutout of the year. McCurdy’s .871 save percentage and 54 saves leads the Horizon League, while her four shutouts ranks second.

One of three Horizon League teams to win its opening match, Loyola will meet Detroit (4-4-1, 1-0-0 Horizon) on Sunday, Sept. 30 in a 1 p.m. ET match. Wright State will play two matches at Alumni Field this week, hosting IPFW in a non-conference match on Monday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. ET, before taking on Green Bay (3-6-0, 0-1-0 Horizon) at 5 p.m. ET on Friday, Sept. 28.
