INDIANAPOLIS -- Milwaukee senior Ashley Green (Glendale, Wis.) is the Horizon League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week while Youngstown State’s Nikki Arbanas (Hermitage, Pa.) is the Freshman of the Week for the week of Jan. 19-25. This is the second time Arbanas has garnered the award this season.

Milwaukee (7-11, 3-3) picked-up two conference wins this past week at home while hosting Valparaiso and UIC at the Klotsche Center. Against the Crusaders, the Panthers utilized a mid-game 21-3 scoring run en route to a season high 90-point performance in the victory, 90-79. Four players hit double-figure points for Milwaukee led by upperclassmen performances. On Saturday versus UIC, the game was decided in overtime with the Panthers capturing the win, 64-63. The game came down to the final seconds in both regulation and overtime with Green scoring the deciding bucket on a put-back.

Green paced Milwaukee throughout the week averaging 29.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg. 2.0 apg and 3.5 spg while shooting a field goal percentage of 56.1. In the win over Valparaiso the senior netted 31 points, grabbed nine rebounds and retrieved five steals. Green carried the Panthers into overtime on Saturday at the end of regulation netting two free-throws and scored the eventual game-winner in overtime with 5.2 seconds left. For the contest, the senior tallied a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds.

Youngstown State (14-4, 3-2) hosted Wright State Thursday evening and produced a lights out shooting performance in the second half going 60 percent from the floor the final 20 minutes. The Penguins shot 5-of-8 from behind the arc during this time and pulled out the victory over the Raiders, 75-70. On Saturday, Youngstown State took the road to face Oakland and fell, 85-82, off of a late-game 8-2 run by the Golden Grizzlies. The Penguins mounted a comeback after going down 10 points in the second half and took the lead until under two minutes remaining in the game. Back-to-back three pointers gave Oakland the edge as the Penguins could not convert on a last-second three-point attempt.

Arbanas shot 60 percent from the field for Youngstown State over the week while averaging 16.0 ppg and 3.5 apg. In the win over Wright State, the freshman scored 12 points and dished out four assists in the victory. Despite the loss to Oakland, Arbanas played a crucial role in the second-half comeback as she netted six triples on eight attempts and scored 20 total points in the contest. Arbanas was 8-of-13 three-pointers in the two games good for 61.5 percent.

Youngstown State takes the floor again on Wednesday, January 28 at home against Detroit at 7:00 p.m. ET while Milwaukee takes the road to face Cleveland State on Thursday, January 29 for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off. The two teams square off on Saturday, January 31 at Youngstown State with action starting at 2:00 p.m. ET. All games are set to be streamed on ESPN3, respectively.

Top Players of the Week:
Ruvanna Campbell, UIC (Jr., F): Picked up her 13th double-double of the season against Milwaukee with 19 points and 11 rebounds. The junior also shot 75 percent from the floor on 9-of-12 shooting.
Cori Coleman, Cleveland State (Sr., G): Became the all-time leading three-point shooter in Cleveland State history after going 8-of-15 from behind the arc this past week. In addition, she averaged 19.5 ppg, 3.0 rpg and 4.0 apg for the Vikings.
Mehryn Kraker, Green Bay (So., G): Set a season-high five triples versus Detroit and recorded 14 points against Cleveland State.
Lexi Miller, Valparaiso (Jr., G): Notched a career highs in points with 21, field goals with seven and three-pointers with five against Milwaukee.
Tay’ler Mingo, Wright State (Sr., G): Went for 30 points and four assists versus Youngstown State and 31 points, 10 assists, six steals and five rebounds in the contest against Cleveland State. Scored her 1000th Wright State point against the Vikings.
Rosanna Reynolds, Detroit (So., G): Led Detroit against Oakland with 27 points, 11 rebounds and five assists to notch her third double-double of the season.
Sinclair Russell, Oakland (So., F): Had a career-high 16 points at Detroit while grabbing a game-high nine rebounds. Also scored 14 points while facing Youngstown State.
Heidi Schlegel, Youngstown State (Sr., F): Posted her seventh double-double of the year with 19 points and 13 rebounds against Wright State while having a game-high 22 points and nine rebounds at Oakland.

Top Freshmen of the Week:
Dani Franklin, Valparaiso (F): Recorded 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor and also grabbed six rebounds in the contest.
Jenny Lindner, Milwaukee (G): Averaged 10.5 ppg and 5.0 rpg this past week for the Panthers while shooting 53 percent from the floor and 75 percent from the charity stripe.
Darianne Seward, Detroit (G): Tallied 13 points, six rebounds and two assists facing Oakland in the Metro Series.
