Milwaukee's Kalinowski, Green Bay's Pogue earn swimming and diving honors

INDIANAPOLIS – Milwaukee’s Jake Kalinowski is the Horizon League Men’s Swimmer of the Week and Green Bay’s Daniel Pogue is the Men’s Diver of the Week for the fourth consecutive week in a row for Nov 9-15.

Kalinowski, a senior from Prior Lake, Minn. helped Milwaukee to a team win at the Stevens Point Border Battle on Friday and Saturday (Nov. 12-13). Competing against Wisconsin-Steven’s Point, South Dakota and Minnesota State-Mankato, he won two out of the three individual events he competed in.  Kalinowski took first-place and set season-best times in both the 50 (21.12) and the 100 Freestyle (46.95). He finished second in the 200 Freestyle (1:45.60) and was also a member of the winning 200, 400 and 800 Freestyles and the 400 Medley Relay teams.

Pogue, a junior from Chisholm, Minn. took first-place and earned a career best score of 325.25 in the One-Meter dive on Friday (Nov. 12) against St. Cloud State. He also won the Three-Meter dive(314.60).  Returning Saturday (Nov. 13) to compete against St. Cloud in a second meet, he swept the diving competition again winning both the One-Meter (312.68) and Three-Meter (319.20). Pogue has earned his fourth consecutive Diver of the Week award and has placed first in 11 of 12 competitions on the season.

Both Milwaukee and Green Bay are taking this weekend off and are scheduled to return to action at the Iowa Hawkeye Invitational Dec. 3-5 in Iowa City, Iowa.
