ROCHESTER, Mich. - Joey Tinnion scored the game-winning goal in the 22nd minute and Wes Mink kept a clean sheet to lead Oakland over Ohio State, 1-0, in men's soccer action on Wednesday at the Oakland Soccer Field. The Golden Grizzlies outshot the Buckeyes 13-12 and held a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal.

"Ohio State is an excellent program and having a good year but for us to come out on our home field and beat the No. 13 team in the country in the RPI on our field means a lot to us," said head coach Eric Pogue. "It's important to continue the momentum that we have going into the Horizon League and it's important to the group. We are going to enjoy this for the night and then get refocused on the league tomorrow for a big game against Cleveland State."

Tinnion scored his second goal in two matches in the 22nd minute as he collected a long pass from Jacob VanderLaan inside Ohio State territory and was able to chip it over the keeper's head for the lone goal of the match.

Mink, the reigning Horizon League Co-Defensive Player of the Week, earned his second-straight shutout making two saves and helped push Oakland's unbeaten streak to four games.

The Golden Grizzlies will hit the road this weekend as they take on Cleveland State on Saturday for a pivotal Horizon League matchup beginning at 7 p.m. at Krenzler Soccer Field.
