Penguins Remain Unbeaten With 92-43 Victory Over Oberlin-- Box Score
The Youngstown State women's basketball team scored 20 straight points at one time in the first half and never looked back beating Oberlin 92-43 on Saturday afternoon at the Beeghly Center. The victory improves YSU to 7-0 to start a season for just the second time in school history.

YSU, which last started a campaign 7-0 in 1978-79, had everyone who dressed for the game scored and made a field goal. Finishing in double figures were Nikki Arbanas (13), Janae Jackson (12), Indiya Benjamin (11) and Sarah Cash (11). Overall, 11 players grabbed rebounds and 10 added assists. Read more

Green Bay Grinds Out 70-55 Victory Over Western Michigan-- Box Score
GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Benefitting from a career-high performance by freshman Allie LeClaire, the Green Bay women’s basketball team grinded out a 70-55 victory over Western Michigan on Saturday afternoon at the Kress Center.

The Phoenix (6-2) was unable to pull away from the pesky Broncos (4-2) despite leading by as many as 22 points in the second half, but LeClaire came on late to score a career-high 19 points to lead all scorers in the game. LeClaire scored 13 of 19 points in the second half, while going 4-for-8 from the three-point line. Read more

Golden Hurricane Make it Rain from Deep; Down Crusaders at ARC-- Box Score
Jessica Carr (Arcadia, Ind./Hamilton Heights) recorded a career-high eight assists, but Tulsa shot raised the nylon on a school-record 15 threes in an 87-63 defeat of the Crusaders Saturday afternoon at the Athletics-Recreation Center. Valpo had four players finish in double figures including Jasmyn Walker (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores), who contributed 16 points and nine rebounds.

Tulsa’s first nine points came via the triple. Haylee Thompson (Hailey, Idaho/Wood River [Utah State]) did her part to counter the Golden Hurricane deep barrage. Thompson recorded eight of her 14 points in the first six-and-a-half minutes. Read more

Oakland Drops Road Game at Ball State, 75-50-- Box Score
MUNCIE, Ind. - Peyton Apsey scored a season-best 15 points and Olivia Nash recorded a double-double as Oakland fell on the road to Ball State, 75-50, Saturday evening at Worthen Arena. The Golden Grizzlies drop to 3-4 on the season.

Apsey led the team in scoring for the first time this season and was one point shy of tying a career high. She also grabbed a career-best nine rebounds. Nash tallied her third double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds. It is her 18th career double-double game. Nola Anderson set a career-best with six assists. Read more

Women's Basketball Eases Past Western Illinois, 67-54-- Box Score
CHICAGO - The UIC women’s basketball team (6-1) is off to its best start in 19 seasons after a 67-54 victory over Western Illinois (4-4) Saturday night at the Flames Athletic Center. UIC last started 6-1 in the 1995-96 season.

The 2014 WBI Champions have won ten of their last 11 contests dating back to last season. The Flames have won their last 11 home games. Read more

Women Fall at Butler-- Box Score
Despite Tay'ler Mingo scoring a career high for the second straight game, the Wright State women's basketball team found the offense hard to come by Friday night in falling 57-49 to the Butler Bulldogs at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Butler scored the first six points of the contest before Mingo hit a three at the 15:13 mark to get the Raiders on the scoreboard.  WSU trailed by just one until the Bulldogs went on a 9-0 run to take their biggest lead of the game at 19-9 with 7:27 remaining in the first half. Read more
