Vikings Clinch Home Game In HL Tournament With 73-62 Victory Over YSU-- Box Score
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team clinched a home game in the quarterfinals of the upcoming Horizon League Tournament Wednesday evening, capturing a 73-62 victory over Youngstown State. The win improves CSU to 17-11 overall this season and 9-6 in league play, while YSU falls to 19-9 overall and 8-7 in league action.

Four of Cleveland State's five starters finished the contest with double-digit points Wednesday, led by Imani Gordon who notched 25 for her eighth 20-point performance of the season. Brooke Smith added 12 points, while Kiersten Green notched 11 and Cori Coleman tallied a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

As a team, Cleveland State shot 50-percent from the field against the Penguins (28-for-56), marking a season-high for the Vikings during league play this season. CSU also outrebounded the Penguins, 43-27, including 16 offensive boards. Read more

Cleveland State Rallies To Beat YSU, 73-62-- Box Score
Cleveland State had an 11-0 run and closed the game on an 18-5 spurt to rally for a 73-62 victory over the Youngstown State women's basketball team on Wednesday evening at the Wolstein Center.

The victory allowed the Vikings to move a game ahead of the Penguins in the Horizon League standings with one game remaining. Cleveland State improved to 17-11 overall and 9-6 in league play, while YSU dropped to 19-9 and 8-7.

Youngstown State made 10 3-pointers in the first half to build a 40-34 lead at halftime, and the Penguins led 52-44 with 14:13 left. Cleveland State turned up the defensive pressure and scored the next 11 points to go up 55-52, and it outscored YSU 18-5 over the final seven minutes. Read more

Women Dominate First Half in 74-54 Win Over UIC-- Box Score
The Wright State women's basketball team held UIC to 19 percent shooting in the first half in racing out to a 44-15 lead en route to a 74-54 decision over the Flames Wednesday night at WSU's Nutter Center.

Two Breanna Stucke three-pointers gave the Raiders a quick 6-0 advantage and after UIC had cut the deficit to two, eight straight points, including back-to-back threes by Abby Jump, made it 18-8 with 11:03 remaining in the first half.

Wright State maintained a double-digit margin for most of the rest of the period before breaking the game open with a 17-2 run to close out the stanza, eight coming from Tay'ler Mingo to go up 44-15 at the half. Read more

Women's Basketball Falls at Wright State, 74-54-- Box Score
DAYTON, Ohio - The UIC women's basketball team (16-12, 6-9 HL) dropped its road contest Wednesday night at second-place Wright State (22-7, 11-4 HL) by a final score of 74-54. The Flames made 50 percent of their field goals in the second half and outscored the Raiders 39-30 after halftime.

Wright State jumped out to a 6-0 lead and never trailed in the contest. The Raiders' largest lead came at 52-18 with 16:40 left in the second half. UIC outscored WSU by 14 from that point on.

WSU held a 42-34 advantage on the boards and became only the fourth opponent to outrebound UIC this season. The Raiders went to the free throw line 24 times and made 17 attempts from the charity stripe. Read more

Titans Tough Out A 60-56 Road Victory At Milwaukee On Wednesday-- Box Score
MILWAUKEE (3/4/2015) -- Redshirt sophomore Rosanna Reynolds tallied 20 points and the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team staged a late rally to down Milwaukee, 60-56, on Wednesday night.

The win moved Detroit to 12-16 overall and more importantly, 7-8 in the Horizon League, assuring the Titans at least a top five spot in the HL Championship. UDM can move to fourth place and get a home game in the Horizon League quarterfinals next Wednesday with a win at Green Bay on Saturday and a Youngstown State loss to Valparaiso. Read more
